What is your relationship with Provence? How does this region influence your creativity?

I arrived in Marseille, for love, 8 years ago. I love both the general chilled-out vibe and its dynamic urban side, the energy of this region. I think the nonchalance and nature that prevails in Provence is transcribed through my designs.

Since my teenage years, I ‘ve been a fan of vintage fabric. I love finding treasures in flea markets, in the small villages of the region. I also travel a lot, especially to the United States and Scandinavian countries, which nourish my inspiration through their culture, their landscapes, their inhabitants... Anything can inspire me.

Why did you choose to make wedding dresses?

It was after my friend Caroline ordered one that I took the plunge. Finding nothing to her liking, she asked me to make the dress of her dreams. Then came a second order, a third and so on. After a rich experience in ready-to-wear with a first label D.dikate, I turned to the world of weddings quite naturally, creating my own brand for women and children.

What I like is to enhance each bride’s nature with a dress that matches her personality. When a client comes to me, she wants an outfit that doesn’t feel like a disguise. A dress that suits her, while remaining something she wouldn’t wear every day, because of the train, the choice of materials, its length... I share a unique moment of her life with her.

What are your favorite fabrics?

I prefer fabrics that evoke softness, lightness, smoothness and fluidity, such as silk, lace, tulle or cotton for the lining. The bride should feel beautiful and comfortable! But my favorite is crepe de Chine. It is a noble silk, smooth and very pleasant to work with. And Calais lace and embroidered cotton tulle take me on a journey to the world of garments from the early twentieth century.

Who would you dream to see wear one of your dresses?

Clemence Poesy, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Alexa Chung... women who are, to me, symbols of modernity, gentleness, and spontaneity, but who also have real character. But to tell you the truth, nothing makes me happier than when a close friend of mine asks me to make her dress!
