L’Occitane is committed to promoting the Fountain of Réotier

Known as the 'petrifying fountain', this natural wonder has recently become the subject of much wider attention. And with good reason as well. The site in the Hautes-Alpes region, where warm water springs up from a fault in the Durance, is about to be showcased with help from L’Occitane.

In the heart of the Guillestrois area, in the Hautes-Alpes region, the picturesque village of Réotier is home to a most surprising fountain. The waters of la Saulce cascade down from a channel and flow into this natural monument, giving it its unusual shape thanks to the rich limestone composition. The unusual tuffaceous rock has recently aroused the interest of L'Occitane, who are committed to promoting the riches found in Provence

The legend aside, which compared this natural wonder to the gaping mouth of a monster, the Fountain of Réotier owes its reputation to the warm waters that have been springing from it for centuries, at a temperature of almost 21°C. It is a source of regional pride that L'Occitane wanted to showcase through 2 initiatives: an analysis of the properties of the water and supporting projects in the municipality.

Developing green spaces, erecting wooden fences, putting down road markings etc. Currently, the Manosque-based company is intending to facilitate access and protect the biodiversity of the fountain. Responsible patronage against a backdrop of respect for the integrity of this legendary site.
