Bibémus Quarry in Aix-en-Provence

Want to take off in the footsteps of Paul Cezanne? Dear to the Impressionist painter with its stunning views over the Mont Sainte-Victoire, the Bibémus Plateau offers an ideal site for running. From Lake Zola to the Barrage de Bimont dam via the Château Noir, small walking tracks intersect in the heart of a vast pine forest dotted with giant ocher rocks. Boasting both steep slopes and comfortable tracks, this site close to the center of Aix-en-Provence will delight you with its enchanting landscapes so typical of the region.

Facing the Bay of Angels in Nice

Symbol of Nice par excellence, the Promenade des Anglais boasts a unique setting which has made it a favorite with running fans. Featuring an eight-kilometer track along the seafront, this classic attraction offers many different routes between the Basilica of Notre-Dame and the Port. Climb the Cap de Nice among the rocks, enjoy wonderful views the length of the Gairaut Canal, or attempt to climb to the lookout on Mont Boron; it's up to you to create your ideal itinerary facing the Bay of Angels.

On the Albion Plateau in the Luberon

The chosen land for lavender, the Albion Plateau is an ideal playground for runners looking for an olfactory experience. Between the Lure Mountain and Mont Ventoux, authentic hilltop villages such as Ferrassières, Aurel, Banon and Saint-Christol dot this magnificent circuit that winds around the hills. It makes for an athletic tribute to the “blue gold” of the Southeast, where you will discover the splendid horizons of the Sault plain and the Luberon from the lavender fields, among the stone shepherd huts.

Around the Avignon Fortifications

Nestled on the banks of the Rhone, the Old Town of the “City of the Popes” is surrounded by medieval fortifications harboring monuments, gardens and renowned museums, such as the famous Saint-Benezet Bridge. Classified as World Heritage by UNESCO, these powerful fortifications stretch for over four kilometers, flanked by nearly 40 towers, making for an exceptional running circuit in the heart of Avignon heritage. Complete this journey through the ages in the Rocher des Doms garden, with its breathtaking view over this city-citadel.

Tips:
1. Be sure to wear shoes adapted to the terrain and appropriate attire for the season.
2. Hydrate yourself properly before, during and / or after exercise.
3. Stretch after each session to recover better and avoid stiffness.
